We list the ingredients of our products so that you can do just that. </span></p> <span class="style12pt"><strong>Allspice </strong>- Is a warm, spicy oil and is used externally for muscular conditions. Allspice aids in fighting depression, nervous exhaustion, and stress. <br> <br> <strong>Almond oil </strong> is an emollient (which means it's moisturizing). <br> <br> <strong>Apricot Kernel oil </strong> is good for sensitive and aging skin <br> <br> <strong>Avocado oil </strong> is moisturizing because of the vitamins A & E and it absorbs UV radiation from the sun <br> <br> <strong>Anise </strong> has excellent masking properties, and is frequently used as bait for fishing and generally for outdoors people. It has been used for respiratory disorders, digestion, and as a breath freshener. Anise can also used as a remedy for muscular aches and pains. <br> <br> <strong>Basil </strong> is an excellent, aromatic nerve tonic. It aids those who suffer from a lack of concentration, since it has an uplifting and clarifying effect on the mind. Basil can also help to alleviate headaches, migraines, insomnia, anxiety, nervous tension and mental fatigue (some believe it to be the best treatment for nervous conditions), vertigo, and depression as well as muscular aches, and rheumatism. It is contraindicated in pregnancy and people with sensitive skin should use it with a little caution. <br> <br> <strong>Bergamot </strong> An uplifting oil, valuable for use in depression, despondency, loss of appetite, and stress relief. It also has antiseptic qualities and is good for skin care, fighting acne, cold sores, and oily complexions. <br> <br> <strong>Bladderwrack </strong> is a kind of seaweed. Seaweeds are said to have more vitamins and minerals than land plants, and seaweeds have antioxidant, humectant, and cell-regenerative properties. <br> <br> <strong>Calendula flowers </strong>- infused, its flowers are useful for a wide spectrum of skin problems such as dry, cracked skin, inflammation and varicose veins <br> <br> <strong>Cedar </strong>- Cedarwood oil has antiseptic and anti-bacterial properties which make it suitable for healing infected conditions of the skin, particularly acne, psoriasis, dermatitis, and scalp conditions such as alopecia and dandruff. Additionally, Cedarwood acts as an insect repellant, and it is known to ease nervous tension. <br> <br> <strong>Cinnamon </strong>- Has been used at least since ancient China where it was regarded as a tranquilizer, tonic, anti-depressant, and heart strengthener. Cinnamon is highly anti-microbial, anti-infectious, antibacterial for wide variety of infections, antiviral, antifungal (candida), sexual stimulant, and it increases blood flow where previously restricted and can act a light anticoagulant. Indeed, research has shown that viruses cannot live in the presence of cinnamon oil. Cinnamon can be irritating to sensitive skin. <br> <br> <strong>Citronella </strong> is an excellent insect deterrent, and combined with Cedarwood oil, it is reputed to be even more effective. It also has antiseptic, antibacterial properties, and it is used to reduce excessive perspiration. Citronella can also be used to combat headaches, migraines, and fatigue. Citronella oil is contraindicated for use during pregnancy. <br> <br> <strong>Clove </strong>- Because clove is highly antimicrobial, antiseptic, analgesic, bactericidal, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory, it is well used for skin infections such as acne and athlete's foot, although it can cause mild irritation in sensitive skin. According to Jean Valnet, M.D. it may treat fatigue, insect bits, headache and arthritis. Clove is mentally stimulating, can encourage dreaming <br> <br> <strong>Cocoa Butter </strong> is a skin softener and it can be used by pregnant women to reduce the appearance of stretch marks. <br> <br> <strong>Coconut oil </strong> is 92% saturated fat, so it provides a protective layer that helps lock in moisture. <br> <br> <strong>Corn Starch </strong> soothes the skin and may have healing properties; it's a safer alternative to talcum powder <br> <br> <strong>Cypress </strong> is anti-infectious, antibacterial, antimicrobial, astringent and antiseptic, and can be used to treat oily skin and excessive perspiration. Because it is antispasmodic, it has been used to treat asthma, and it has also been used for treating arthritis, poor circulation, cramps, hemorrhoids, insomnia, menopausal problems, menstrual pain, rheumatism, spasms, varicose veins, and fluid retention. Cypress also acts as an insect repellent. <br> <br> <strong>Dill </strong> Aside from the fact that it just plain makes you happy, dill is calming to the autonomic nervous system as well as being antispasmodic, antibacterial, expectorant, and stimulant. It has been researched at Cairo University (along with fennel and coriander) for its effect on glucose and insulin levels and support of the pancreatic function. It may also help with bronchial conditions, indigestion, constipation, headaches, liver deficiencies, lowering glucose levels, nervousness, normalize insulin levels, promote milk flow in nursing mothers. People subject to epilepsy should use dill with caution. <br> <br> <strong>Epsom </strong> salts soothe sore muscles and reduce inflammation. <br> <br> <strong>Eucalyptus </strong> has been used as an ingredient of cough and cold remedies for decades and is valued in aromatherapy as a powerful antiseptic, killing airborne germs when used in a burner or spray. It is an excellent decongestant and can be used in inhalations to ease the symptoms of colds, flu, sinusitis, and bronchitis, as well as asthma. It is used to combat headaches, nervous exhaustion, and to fight infection in cuts, burns, and sores. It is also employed to ease muscular aches and poor circulation. <br> <br> <strong>Fir </strong> is known to be antiseptic, anticatarrahal, stimulant, and analgesic. It is well used to treat bronchitis, respiratory congestion, and fatigue, and it may be beneficial for asthma, arthritis, rheumatism, coughs, fighting airborne germs/bacteria, and sinusitis. Further, fir is grounding, and both stimulating to the mind and relaxing to the body. <br> <br> <strong>Frankincense </strong> has been used since ancient days in India and China and in the west by the Catholic and Greek Orthodox churches for purification of the temple. For skin care, it is ideal for dry and mature complexions and wrinkles. Frankincense is invaluable for stress and anxiety because it helps to slow down the breathing and it has a calming effect on the mind as well. These qualities make this oil an excellent aid to prayer and meditation. Frankincense fights depression, headaches, high blood pressure, inflammation, and it is very high in sesquiterpenes, which enables it to go beyond the blood brain barrier. It increases the activity of leukocytes in defense of the body against infection. <br> <br> <strong>Geranium </strong> is a "balancing" oil, meaning that it harmonizes extreme physical and emotional conditions. Because it balances, it is one of the most important oils in aromatherapy. Geranium has antispasmodic, adrenal cortex stimulant, anti-inflammatory, astringent, anti-infectious, antibacterial, and antifungal properties, and it acts as an antidepressant, and deodorant, and is used to heal acne, dermatitis, and wounds. It is highly regarded as being beneficial to mature and sensitive skin, as it balances sebum, which is the fatty secretions in the sebaceous glands of the skin that keep skin supple. Geranium is generally a good oil for women since it alleviates many symptoms of the menstrual cycle such as fluid retention associated with PMS, mood swings, and irritability. <br> <br> <strong>Ginger </strong> has warming, stimulating, astringent and antiseptic qualities. It can alleviate the discomforts of arthritis, rheumatism and muscular aches and pains because of its warming action. Ginger can be photosensitizing. <br> <br> <strong>Grapefruit </strong> is antiseptic, disinfecting, detoxifying, and diuretic. Like many cold-pressed citrus oils, it has unique fat dissolving characteristics and it is cleansing for oily skin. Psychologically it acts as an antidepressant. It may help fatigue, jet lag, migraine headaches, pre-menstrual tension, and stress. <br> <br> <strong>Hemp oil </strong>- Hemp is a rich source of many of the fatty acids the skin uses and is particularly suitable for dry skin applications. Because of its ability to partially compensate for the natural decline of vital skin lipids, it can be used in anti-aging products. It also boosts the skin's nourishing environment, and increases the rate of cellular reproduction. It contains 81% of Essential Fatty Acid, which our body can't produce (we have to take what we need from outside sources). Dermatologists say that EFA's replenish dry skin, preventing cell loss and making your skin look younger. <br> <br> <strong>Jasmine </strong>- Jasmine oil is uplifting and relaxing, with an optimistic, slightly euphoric, sensual effect, and combats depression, nervous exhaustion, and stress-related conditions. It is also prized as a skin softener, and is used for dry, greasy, irritated, or sensitive skin. <br> <br> <strong>Jojoba oil </strong>- is technically a wax. Its chemical make-up is very close to that of human oils, and it is readily absorbed by the skin, making it a very desirable moisturizer. Light (white, or clear) jojoba generally absorbs better into light skin, while golden jojoba generally absorbs better into darker skin. <br> <br> <strong>Lavender </strong>- Lavender is just about the ultimate panacea. It is gentle and is suitable for use even by children. Lavender oil is invaluable for cuts, minor burns and scalds, blisters, and insect bites. It is an excellent pain reliever for headaches. <br> Because it is soothing, it is a choice oil for insomnia, anxiety, and depression. Lavender promotes healing and helps to prevent scarring; it stimulates the immune system and wound cells to heal quickly. This healing quality makes it a good treatment for bruises as well. It is used in treatment of (among many, many other things) acne, dandruff, earaches, inflammation, sunburns, and scabies. It has (again, among many, many other) analgesic, antidepressant, antiseptic, deodorant, sedative, tonic properties. <br> <br> <strong>Lemon </strong>- Lemon is a cleansing, astringent, antiseptic oil. It is believed to help lower high blood pressure, stem nosebleeds, and minor wounds. It relieves the stuffy feeling of colds and flu, soothes sore throats and strengthens the immune system. Lemon thoroughly cleanses and helps clear corns, verrucae and warts and removes dead skin cells, is an excellent oil for oily skin and blackheads, and is also recommended for wrinkles. <br> <br> <strong>Lemongrass </strong>- Lemongrass has antiseptic, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, and deodorant properties and would be appropriate for treating once, scabies, and athlete's foot, as well being a good footbath for tired, sweaty feet at the end of a long day. It contains the analgesic compound, Myrcene, and can bring relief to muscular aches and pains. Lemongrass is an insect deterrent, and can also be used to combat headaches and stress-related situations. <br> <br> <strong>Myrrh </strong> is uplifting and it stimulates spiritual awareness. It has one of the highest levels of sesquiterpenes, a class of compounds that has direct effects on the hypothalamus, pituitary, and amygdala, the seat of our emotions. Traditionally, myrrh has been used for skin conditions and in religious rituals. It is one of the gifts (along with frankincense and gold) that the magi brought to Christ at His birth. Myrrh has traditionally been used as a cure for cancer, leprosy and syphilis. Myrrh has anti-infectious, antiviral, parasitic, hormone-like, anti-inflammatory characteristics and it soothes skin conditions, and supports the immune system. It may help with stretch marks, thrush, and ulcers as well as asthma, athlete's foot, candida, coughs, eczema, fungal infection, skin conditions, chapped and cracked wounds, and wrinkles. <br> <br> <strong>Olive Oil </strong> is a good moisturizer because it acts as a humectant while not preventing the functions naturally performed by the skin such as sweating and breathing. It's also mild, making it good for sensitive skin. Olive oil soap (and sometimes mostly-olive oil soap) is called "castille." <br> <br> <strong>Orange </strong>- is much like other citrus oils, and most like mandarin and tangerine. They are good for fighting infectious illnesses such as colds and flu and for boosting the immune system due to their high vitamin C content. Orange oil is valuable as a toner for acne, congested, dull, sallow and greasy facial skin. Orange is a cheering, uplifting oil that promotes confidence and has the ability to refresh and de-stress at the same time. These qualities make it an excellent treatment for mild depression; and after a hard, tense day at work or school, this oil can be used in the bath to relax and rejuvenate without a sedative effect. <br> <br> <strong>Patchouli </strong> was first discovered in the west in the 1800's when Indian linens were imported into England impregnated with patchouli oil to deter moths. The hippies adopted it during the 1960's and it continues to be used to this day, both as a personal perfume and in aromatherapy. Patchouli is invaluable in the treatment of cracked and sore skin, weeping eczema and over-greasy skin and hair. Aromatherapists refer to patchouli as a "grounding" oil because it restores emotional balance and restores reality. Aphrodisiac powers are also attributed to its earthy, sensual aroma. It has antibiotic, antifungal, and tissue regenerative properties and is a good treatment for athletes foot, impetigo, acne, snake and insect bites, cellulite, dandruff, depression, hives, skin conditions (tightens loose skin and soothes chapped skin), fluid retention, and wrinkles. This oil is a digester of toxic material in the body. <br> <br> <strong>Peppermint </strong> has strong cooling and stimulating properties. It is a potent oil and should be used in moderation. It has been used for centuries in both Eastern and Western medicine as a remedy for nausea and digestive complaints-amongst other ailments. It is analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, astringent, anti-viral, and anti-microbial, making it an excellent treatment for a host of maladies, including acne, dermatitis, and scabies. The cooling, menthol content of the oil has analgesic and anaesthetic qualities that will mildly numb when applied directly. Peppermint invigorates, clears the head and is refreshing and cooling. Peppermint is known to relieve headaches, migraines, colds, sinusitis and mental fatigue, travel sickness, and vertigo. <br> <br> <strong>Petitgrain </strong> is uplifting and helps to refresh the senses, clear confusion, reduce mental fatigue, and reduce depression. It may stimulate the mind, support memory and gladden the heart. Petitgrain has antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, anti-infectious, antibacterial (staph and pneumonia) properties and it re-establishes nerve equilibrium. It may help with acne, fatigue, greasy hair, insomnia, and excessive perspiration. <br> <br> <strong>Pine </strong> is a very powerful antiseptic, valued in aromatherapy for its effectiveness in treating infections of the pulmonary and respiratory system, such as bronchial catarrh, sinusitis, sore throats etc. It has a stimulating effect on the circulation, and it is an excellent, warming massage oil for muscular aches and sprains, particularly after sports. Pine is also of value in rheumatic and arthritic pain. Its strong antiseptic qualities make it an excellent oil to use in a burner in the sickroom. It kills airborne germs and purifies the air (particularly if it is mixed with Rosemary or Eucalyptus oils). Pine is also believed to be a tonic for nervous exhaustion and mental fatigue. <br> <br> <strong>Rosehip seed oil/ Rose Mosqueta oil </strong>- is high in EFA's (essential fatty acids), which help in the production of antibodies as well as moisturizing the skin and helping to heal inflammation. EFAs also help prevent water loss from the skin, ultimately preventing dry skin, eczema, and hair loss. <br> <br> <strong>Rosemary </strong>- Rosemary oil is a stimulating, antiseptic tonic. It has been known for centuries as a brain stimulant as it aids memory, recall, and concentration (think "rosemary for remembrance"). Another quality of this oil is its ability to boost the circulation and to normalize low blood pressure. It is also regarded as being helpful for baldness, falling hair and dandruff. <br> If mixed with Geranium and Lavender oils for massage, it can ease the symptoms of PMS and fluid retention. Rosemary can also be soothing for conditions such as rheumatism and arthritis. Because of its camphorous, penetrating aroma, inhaling rosemary works wonders for nasal congestion, headaches and bronchitis. It is also excellent for after sports stiffness and sprains, or for a pre-exercise massage, as it conditions, warms and loosens the muscles and joints. <br> Contraindications-Do not use in pregnancy, do not use if hypertensive, do not use in epilepsy. <br> <br> <strong>Rosewood </strong>- is anti-infectious, antibacterial, antiviral, antiparasitic, antifungal, soothing to the skin, making it useful in treating acne, candida, eczema, dry skin. It is soothing and nourishing to the skin, and may create skin elasticity. It is recognized for its ability to get rid of candida of the skin and slow the aging process. It may also be beneficial for cuts, nausea, tissue regeneration, and wounds. Rosewood can also be used in treating depression since it creates a feeling of peace and gentleness. <br> <br> <strong>Sage </strong>- The ancient Romans knew sage as the sacred herb. In fact, its name is even derived from the word for salvation! One use for it was to strengthen the senses and the memory. Today, sage is believed to support menstruation, prevent and reduce scarring, regulate circulation, soothe skin conditions, and balance and detoxify the body. Since it contains camphor, it balances estrogen levels, providing support during PMS and menopause. Some report that it may also help improve the balance of progesterone, and testosterone and help with illnesses related to digestion and liver problems, as it activates the nervous system and adrenal cortex. Sage may also be beneficial for acne, arthritis, bacterial infections, dandruff, depression, eczema, low blood pressure, fibrosis, metabolism, rheumatism, sores and sprains. Sage is mentally stimulating, and may help in coping with despair and mental fatigue. <br> Contra-indications: Do not use if epileptic. Avoid if dealing with high blood pressure. <br> <br> <strong>Sandalwood </strong> Our research tells us that sandalwood is also high in sesquiterpenes, which have been researched in Europe for their ability to stimulate the pineal gland (responsible for releasing melatonin, a powerful antioxidant that enhances deep sleep) and the limbic region of the brain (the center of emotions). Sandalwood acts as an antidepressant, antiseptic, aphrodisiac, astringent, calming, sedative and tonic, and can be a treatment for acne, skin infections, dry skin, depression, nervous tension, and meditation. <br> <br> <strong>Shea Butter </strong> is high in unsaponifiables (8%), which means that it has a lot that can't be turned into soap, leaving extra oils to nourish your skin. It's beneficial for skin conditions such as dry skin and dermatitis. <br> <br> <strong>Spearmint </strong>- Spearmint's properties are similar to Peppermint's properties, but spearmint is milder. Spearmint is known to be anesthetic, antiseptic, and astringent. It is well suited to treating headache, migraine, fatigue, and nervous tension as well as symptoms of colds and flu. It is also used to care for acne and dermatitis. <br> <br> <strong>Tea Tree </strong>- Tea Tree fights bacteria, fungi, and viruses and acts as an immuno-stimulant. As a matter of fact, in an Australia study, it was found to be 11 to 13 times more effective than carbolic as a germicide while not being toxic or irritating to normal tissue cells. Its powerful antiseptic and bactericidal properties make it useful in treatment of blisters, cuts, dandruff, insect bites, wounds, and rashes, bad breath, smelly feet, etc. <br> <br> <strong>Thyme </strong>- can be useful in overcoming fatigue and exhaustion, can increase concentration, and is uplifting. Thyme is also very antimicrobial, antifungal, and antiviral. It can be useful for treating asthma, bronchitis, colitis, cystitis, dermatitis, fatigue, pleurisy, psoriasis, sciatica. It may help with bacterial infections, circulation, depression, headaches, insomnia, rheumatism. <br> Safety data: Use caution when dealing with high blood pressure. <br> <br> <strong>Vetiver </strong> Antiseptic, antispasmodic, calming, grounding, rubefacient (locally warming), circulatory stimulant. Vetiver may help acne, anxiety, arthritis, cuts, depression (including post partum), insomnia, rheumatism, stress, and oily, aging, or tired skin. Vetiver, like patchouli, is psychologically grounding, and can helps us cope with stress and recovery from emotional traumas and shock. <br> <br> <strong>Ylang Ylang </strong> has historically been used to cover the beds of newlyweds on their wedding night. It has also been used for skin treatment, soothing insect bites, and to regulate heartbeat and respiration. Ylang ylang acts as an antispasmodic, and it is believed to balance blood pressure, and regulate heartbeat. It is used in hair preparations to promote thick, shiny, lustrous hair.
